i love property.

i love the idea of personal property— there’s something uniquely western about the equitable value we attach as a counterpart to private property. (though i think one could argue it’s because that concept is exclusive to capitalist economies, not just the west.) the idea that property gained in a socially fair manner secures your INDIVIDUAL right to distribute said property is the very foundation of my understanding of the word itself— it’s integral to my identity.

the hippie marxist types will always stop to tell you that the distinction between the two types of property is important, that private property means seizing the means of production while they make their pitch to overthrow the capitalist empire— it doesn’t take anymore than a few seconds to stick your hand up and begin to chuckle.

anyways, i designed this little turtle man as a potential stamp to mark my objects, starting with my comic book backing boards & the inside front covers of my bookcase books. i had the idea to brand the things that i own as it adds a distinct marker should i ever decide to part with them— fear not, however, there are no plans to do that on the horizon.
