〰️ sunglasses, abortion, hate, and the fast lane.
i was in a coffee shop the other day and somebody asked me why i never take off my sunglasses— i laughed because i never thought about how much i wear them. they made a case that it was rude to wear them indoors and i made a case that it wasn’t— my eyes are incredibly sensitive to light and nobody has god given rights to eye contact.
abortion is an interesting issue— personally, i am pro-life but i also don’t believe i have the right to tell a biological woman what to do with her body. with that being said, news broke this morning that the supreme court will attempt to reverse roe v wade and a bunch of blue haired, third wave feminists are outraged… in states that have protected access to abortion. relax, friends.
here’s an ethics bomb for ya: i was on the phone with a friend the other day where we were discussing the arbitrary barriers of how we define hate. we were mostly on the same page, but i also begged a question “well, if we hate a certain group of people because THEY hate a certain group of people, are we no worse for doing the hating?” it was a hard truth to face, but something we should all think about.
the left lane is for going 10 MPH over the posted speed limit, period. if you’re getting in the left lane to slow down, then you shouldn’t be on the road.
that’s all i’ve got at the current moment, but i should start writing down these thoughts everyday— there are a lot of them.
