SERIALS: KING OF THE ROCKET MEN, CHAPTER 1
this first chapter starts with dr. vulcan killing off members of a science lab— they mostly die in random explosions as he’s a scientist but we don’t NECESSARILY need to know more about the victims— we know just enough.
we meet mae clarke, a reporter for a science magazine. she’s in pursuit of the truth around the suspicious deaths of the scientists. mr. coffin, the troubleshooter of the organization, is under the suspicion that dr. vulcan has something to do with it. vulcan sends some men to search coffin’s office. when coffin finds them, they start to tustle.
after wailing on them, coffin takes a rocket suit from one of the victims who survived— coffin is the only one who knows. vulcan abruptly leaves, and coffin pursues him with his stolen jetpack— it appears the men have stolen an experimental rocket.
i’ve always been a fan of this serial ever since my dad introduced me to it as a kid— this is a ton of fun and i’ll be running all 12 chapters throughout the rest of the year.
