INDEPENDENCE DAY (OBSERVED)

DECLARATIONHT.jpg

every year, i try to come up with words to describe how much i love this place— and every year, i seem to really fail at it. to be honest, i don’t think i’ll ever comprehend how lucky i am to be born on american soil— i don’t think any of us ever will. i’ll never quite grasp why 56 men selflessly signed their death warrant so that generations they’d not known could live free from the reigns of tyranny. i’ll also never understand the true cost of that freedom but i’ll spend my life trying to figure it out— until then, i’ll remain eternally grateful for everything god’s greatest experiment has given me. pour one out for those who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor— happy 245, america.
