EDC: iver johnson tp22
one of my every day carry pistols is an old iver johnson from the 1960s chambered in 22lr— it’s basically a clone of the iconic james bond pistol; the walther ppk. reading up on some history about this gun, i found that the there was never any hint that the tp22 was modeled after the walther. one of the more noticeable differences between both guns are the size of the sights. when iver johnson designed the tp22, they pursued production with the understanding that this wasn’t designed to be a target pistol.
a lot of guys will bash you for packing a 22lr— and for good reason. it’s a small caliber round designed to take down small game. with that being said, i don’t carry this 22lr as my primary pistol. to those who are sensitive about the 22lr carry debate, i think the pros win the argument— unless you’re willing to be on the receiving end of this less-than-lethal round.
