latest issue— #48

way back in the day, i remember picking up esquire bi-monthly at the market down the street from my high school— i always loved the content & i felt like i was in my own secret society of esquire readers. it seemed foreign to suburban kids but i think i turned them onto something as i always found my copy of the publication floating around once i was finished with it— in a way, it felt like showing a caveman a fire. i don’t say that in a high brow way, either— i just genuinely mean that what was originally met with hostility evolved slowly into an appreciation. but i digress— esquire went down the f*cking toilet with their empty virtue signaling & activist writers— i don’t want to politicize the ludlow suit from j. crew, i just want to read about why i should buy it. and so, my love for the once-renowned mens magazine that’s been around since 1933 slowly vanished. i maintained my appreciation for the japanese publication popeye magazine, picking up a few issues a year as i couldn’t justify it often— if it wasn’t a fashion or interior issue, i was out. it’s useless to me without visuals as i can’t write or read in kanji.

i found these guys a few years ago, but didn’t opt to SUBSCRIBE until about two years ago. each magazine is a damn art piece, filled with great visuals & real clean layouts. their tagline, “the things that move us” has double meaning as most of ITS content focuses on the latest trends & projects in the auto & moto industry— but it has the perfect amount of lifestyle & culture content to make it worth your while. no politics & no bullshit— it is a genuine mens publication that delivers a smile to my face every damn time i pick up the latest issue.
